Comment venir sur le canton de Moncoutant?
Les Deux-Sèvres : situé entre la Vendée et la Vienne, le département appartient à la région Poitou-Charentes. "C'est un département à découvrir". Situé au nord-ouest entre Bocage et Gâtine, le Canton de Moncoutant (ses 12 communes et ses 11 000 habitants) est l'un des plus dynamiques du Pays de Gâtine. Le canton de Moncoutant est heureux de vous accueillir et de nombreux moyens de transports sont mis à votre disposition pour venir :

L'Absie is a typical friendly french village with all the local ammenities, plus daily bread delivery, every Thursday delivery of local meat, vegetables and dairy products. Even the local wine producer will deliver a litre of wine for $2. Every second Sunday a market in the village centre. Direct sales from farmers. A Local milk producer. The region is famous for butter, goat cheese, apples. Fresh sea food is but one hour away.

There are 5 cafes in the village and the Hotel L'Etoile offers a good luncheon for 14 euros
Chez Chantal A very reasonable 5 course meal. Routier style. good value for money
Hotel O'Bistrot Brasserie et Pub. Good basic food reasonably priced very friendly young french couple. Cyrile and Sabrine
Cafe du Sport. Standard fare.
Bar de la Poste.(run by anglophones)
The people of L'Absie or les Absiens are very friendy and helpful towards Anglophones trying to speak french.
